What the system is doing
Coolant circulates through the engine, picks up heat, and carries it to the radiator, where outside air pulls that heat away before the coolant heads back in to do it again. A thermostat manages when coolant flows to keep the engine at the temperature it’s designed to run at, and the water pump keeps everything moving.
Why coolant matters
Coolant isn’t just water — it has additives that protect the cooling system from the inside, and those additives wear out over time even if the coolant still looks fine. The specific coolant your car calls for is platform-specific, and we use the right one for your vehicle.
What we check
Coolant level and condition, hose condition, and the general health of the system are part of what we look at during scheduled visits. All maintenance is priority — the cooling system doesn’t get skipped just because it’s quiet most of the time.
What to keep an eye on
