Service intervals on European cars are specific per brand and model — sometimes per engine variant within a model. There is no universal “do this every X miles” rule across all platforms. This post is a plain overview of the items we keep an eye on. All maintenance is priority. When you bring your car in, we’ll tell you what yours actually needs based on the manufacturer schedule for your specific vehicle.
Oil changes
The most important regular service. We use the correctly-certified oil for your specific platform — the right viscosity and the right manufacturer spec. We’re an authorized Liqui Moly service center. (And on Toyota and Honda models that spec 0W-8, we use 0W-8.)
Brake fluid
Brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air over time, which changes how it performs. We check it at every service and tell you when it’s time to flush.
Coolant
Coolant has additives that protect the cooling system. They wear out over time. The specific coolant your car calls for is platform-specific — we use the right one for your vehicle.
Spark plugs
Plug intervals vary widely between platforms. We replace them on the manufacturer’s schedule for your specific car, using the correct plug for the engine.
Transmission fluid
Some European transmissions call for periodic service even when the owner’s manual implies “lifetime” fluid. We follow the actual manufacturer service procedure for the specific transmission in your car.
Air filter, cabin filter, wipers
Small items we check at every service.
Resets and adaptations
Every car needs the reset or relearn procedure it calls for. We do these in-house after the part is installed.
What to do next
If your European car is due for service or you’re not sure what’s been done, bring it in. We’ll scan it, look at fluid conditions, and give you a prioritized list of what we’d recommend for your specific vehicle. We’re at 3645 Main Street, Chula Vista, Monday through Friday.
