What we’re looking at

A safety inspection walks through the systems that are responsible for occupant protection and safe control of the car:

  • Brakes
  • Steering and suspension
  • Tires
  • Lighting
  • Visibility — wipers, glass, and mirrors
  • Seatbelts and airbags
  • Exhaust

The goal is a clear picture of how each of those systems is doing right now, not a guess.

Why we check the whole picture

Safety systems don’t work in isolation. Worn tires change how brakes and suspension behave together. A dim headlight can be a small wiring issue or something else entirely. Rather than looking at one part in isolation, we check the whole picture so nothing gets missed and nothing gets assumed.

This is general guidance — the goal of the inspection is to tell you what’s actually going on with your specific car, not to have you guess at it beforehand.
