The right oil for your specific vehicle

Not every car takes the same oil. Manufacturers specify a particular weight and an approval the oil has to meet, and that spec has been changing. Toyota and Honda now spec 0W-8 in many current models, a lighter weight than older 0W-20 recommendations. European platforms carry their own approvals — BMW LL-01, VW 504.00, MB 229.5, Land Rover ST-JLR, among others.
