A quick note about how we approach our work.

You’ll never hear us bash another shop. You won’t read a line on this website that says someone else is bad at their job, can’t be trusted, or doesn’t know what they’re doing. That’s a deliberate choice.

The way the owner puts it: “Bashing other companies is not ethical nor accepted by OREC Imports standards.”

We mean that.

What this looks like in practice

  • We don’t compare our prices to anyone else’s to try to make ourselves look better.
  • We don’t tell stories about jobs other shops did wrong.
  • We don’t suggest you should distrust any other business — including the dealer.
  • We don’t try to scare you about what happens “if you take this somewhere else.”

We focus on what we do, not what anyone else doesn’t do.

Why we work this way

A few reasons:

It’s the right way to do business. Tearing other people down to lift yourself up isn’t a reflection of confidence; it’s a reflection of insecurity. We’re confident in our work. We don’t need anyone else to look bad for us to look good.

Our customers deserve respect. That includes respecting their judgment. If you’ve had good service somewhere else, that’s great. If we earn your business, we’d be honored to take care of you.

The trade is small. The auto repair community in South Bay San Diego is a community. We have friends and colleagues at other shops. We refer customers to other shops when it’s the right call — for example, when you need bodywork or paint (we don’t do those — and we’ll point you toward someone who does).

What we focus on instead

  • The car in front of us
  • The customer in front of us
  • Doing the work right the first time
  • Being honest about what we find, what it needs, and what it doesn’t need

That’s enough to keep us busy. We don’t need to spend any time talking about anyone else.

A family-business value

Family businesses tend to think long term. Our reputation is what we’ll have ten years from now and twenty years from now. We’d rather build it on the quality of what we do than on the volume of what we say about other people.

What to do next

If that approach lines up with what you’re looking for in a shop, come say hi. We’re at 3645 Main Street in Chula Vista, Monday through Friday. Bring your car by and we’ll take a look.
